Washing:
A.E. Runge, Jr Oriental Rugs is the only oriental business in Maine that has its own washroom. We still wash orientals the old fashioned way. We beat them to remove the dirt. Then we hand wash them using gentle detergents. After we rinse them several times, we air dry them. We DO NOT shampoo rugs.
Does you rug have a pet or other odor? We guarantee we'll get the odor out of your rug.

Cost:
$2.35 per square foot for most rugs
$3.25 per square foot for serious urine & stains

Repair and Restoration:
Whether it is basic edge/end repair or major restoration, we would be happy to quote you a reasonable price for the work. We can only give approximations from photographs.

We guarantee the quality of our washing and repair services.

Appraisals:
Tad Runge specializes in doing appraisals of pre-WW2 rugs for:
1) Insurance/replacement values;
2) Estate Appraisal for estate executors, trust officers and lawyers;
3) Adjustment work for the insurance company.
He cannot, however, do written appraisals from photographs. Free verbal appraisals are offered at the shop in Yarmouth.

Consultants:
We enjoy working with museums and clients to examine and report on pieces that are offered to them in either private or public venues.
